Overview of Sector & Screener Dynamics

Capital allocation is fundamentally driven by structural bottlenecks. Rather than chasing broad index benchmarks, market alpha is generated by identifying the narrow segments of the global tech value-chain that possess absolute pricing power. The second tab of the Live Signal Board provides the frameworks needed to identify these leading sectors, evaluate their volatility extremes, monitor informational asymmetry (insider activity), and select asymmetric entry points using the Leading Stocks Screener.

Successful capital positioning requires evaluating these inputs systematically: identifying relative outperformance, measuring technical dislocations, capturing asymmetric smart money flows, and executing screen-based filtering rules.


Phase I: The Relative Lead (Sector Performance & Momentum)

Capital flows toward areas of high efficiency. Relative performance indicators help separate structural sector leadership from temporary, speculative rallies.

Relative Strength (RS)

Relative Strength measures an asset's performance relative to the S&P 500 benchmark. It is calculated by dividing the asset's price by the index price. When an asset's RS line is rising, it indicates that the asset is outperforming the broader market. Tracking RS allows allocators to identify sectors that maintain strength even during market corrections, as these often lead the subsequent market recovery.

20-Day Momentum (ROC)

The 28-day Rate of Change (ROC) of the Relative Strength line measures the speed and acceleration of a sector's outperformance. A positive and expanding ROC indicates that capital is aggressively flowing into the sector. Conversely, a declining ROC suggests that while the sector may still be outperforming, the momentum is slowing, signaling potential rotation into other asset classes.

Sector Rotation Frameworks

Sectors move in cycles driven by macroeconomic conditions and supply chain shifts. For example, during periods of rising interest rates or economic contraction, capital often rotates toward defensive assets and income-producing infrastructure. Conversely, when liquidity expands, capital typically flows toward high-growth technology sectors and growth equities. Understanding these pathways allows allocators to anticipate capital migration across the value chain.


Phase II: Technical Dislocation Bounds (Volatility & Mean-Reversion)

Technical indicators measure the degree of price dislocation from statistical averages, helping allocators identify near-term exhaustion points in buying or selling.

Bollinger Bands %B

Bollinger %B measures the current price of an asset relative to its upper and lower volatility bands. It is calculated as:

A %B value of 1.0 indicates the price is at the upper band (highly extended), while a value of 0.0 indicates the price is at the lower band (oversold). Values exceeding 1.0 or falling below 0.0 represent extreme price moves that often precede short-term corrections or reversals.

200-Day Moving Average Disparity (Disparity)

Disparity measures the percentage difference between the current price and its 200-day moving average. It represents the asset's deviation from its long-term trend. Because asset prices historically exhibit mean-reverting behavior, extreme disparities indicate overextended trends. A low disparity indicates that the asset has corrected close to or below its long-term cost basis, which historically offers a margin of safety for long-term positioning.


Phase III: Asymmetric Alpha Generators (Smart Money & Market Psychology)

Informational asymmetry and market psychology serve as critical leading indicators for structural shifts in asset prices.

Insider Activity Radar

The Insider Activity Radar tracks purchases and sales of company shares by corporate executives, board members, and large shareholders. Corporate insiders possess deep, asymmetric knowledge of their business operations and industry dynamics. While insiders may sell shares for various personal reasons, insider purchases represent a strong signal of confidence in the company's valuation. Allocators monitor insider transaction patterns to identify structural value setups before they are reflected in public earnings reports.

News Sentiment Radar

The News Sentiment Radar uses natural language processing to analyze news headlines, financial media, and public commentary to measure aggregate market psychology. Financial markets are driven by cycles of fear and greed. When news sentiment reaches negative extremes, it often indicates capitulation by retail investors, which historically aligns with market bottoms. Conversely, extreme positive sentiment suggests complacency and elevated valuation risks.


Phase IV: The Value-Chain Screener Engine (Screening Rules)

The Leading Stocks Screener integrates these technical, fundamental, and sentiment signals into a systematic filtering framework to identify high-probability entry targets.

Leading Stocks Screener Logic

The screener isolates gatekeeper enterprises that hold strategic bottlenecks within technology value chains. It filters for companies that exhibit strong long-term Relative Strength but are experiencing temporary technical pullbacks. The engine identifies candidate assets by evaluating two primary factors:

  1. Structural Strength: High average trading volume and positive relative strength trends over quarterly horizons.
  2. Technical Exhaustion: Short-term indicators showing temporary oversold conditions.

The Double-Trigger Entry Strategy

A high-probability entry signal occurs when a structurally strong asset meets two conditions simultaneously:

  • 200-Day Disparity <= 85%: The price has corrected back to its long-term average, providing a historical margin of safety.
  • Bollinger %B <= 0.0: The short-term price has pushed outside its lower volatility band, indicating near-term selling exhaustion.

When these conditions are met, it suggests that panic selling has exhausted near-term supply at a key structural support level. This provides an asymmetric risk-reward setup for patient allocators.
